Tastings, Pretty Boxes and New Equipment

It seems lately that every day something new and exciting is happening along our journey. We've had a busy week! This past Tuesday we had our first official tasting at an event co-hosted by the food and review site Waddle and the queer lady pop-up dinner party Babetown. We received some great feedback on our chocolate, and as a queer lady-owned business ourselves, we're thrilled to be invited to such an inclusive event. Thanks, Suma (Waddle) and Alex (Babetown)!

So after a great event, what else could float our boat so high? Our boxes came!!! Can you feel our excitement? We'll definitely write a post later about the challenges of getting your packaging in order, but all we'll say for now is that they are beautiful, they are exactly what we envisioned and we are relieved that the bars fit.

After two big wins this weeks we weren't expecting much more. But we had forgotten that our Crankenstein was due to arrive in the mail! Now, instead of smashing our cacao beans with a rolling pin, we just put them through a mill and voila! It saves a ton of time and cracks the beans perfectly. We're no longer losing so much of the nib and it's honestly just much more professionally than smashing beans with a rolling pin.

Kelechi and I spend a lot of time lately chatting about how starting your own business is a lot of long nights, early mornings and little wins. This week, was all of those.

Until next time, eat lots of chocolate and smile often.

Cheers,

Kelechi + Sara
